Batubulan Barong dance village; Barong is one of Balinese mythology’s characters. He was known as the King of Spirits and the protagonist of an adversary named Rangda. Barong is also believed to be a village protector. The appearance with the long fangs and mane is indeed shrill. During the Galungan Festivals there are many kinds of Barong presented; they include Barong Ket, Barong Macan and Barong Bangkal. The festival can be enjoyed by selecting the Bali Cab Driver tour package
The struggle between Barong and Rangda is also the primary subject for many shows and stories. One is the Barong dance show by an art group in Bali. There is a story in the dance where Barong symbolizes goodness, whereas Rangda is about evil. Barong represents excellent deeds which are Balinese, it’s called Dharma through lovely movements. Barong’s costume during the show itself is highly artistic but also heavy. Two dancers usually wear the Barong costume at once.
Although Barong is depicted by dances, legends and fairy tales include the personality. Calonarang is the most famous. Calonarang was a Jirah widow who was so angry that she couldn’t find her daughter’s excellent boyfriend, Ratna Manggali. Well, all the young people were scared of the black magic abilities they possessed. She took vengeance in sending a major disaster into the Daha Kingdom region.
Then, some more characters including Barong and Rangda were included in the tale. Barong assisted the Daha king while Calonarang was helped by Rangda. At the end, Barong won the battle while Rangda fled.
Batuan Traditional House compound: Batuan traditional Balinese houses is located in Gianyar Regency 15 km from Denpasar, we will visit one of traditional Balinese houses in which people live and enjoy their daily lives every day. The shape of the compound is the same everywhere, but here it is kept very uniquely by its owners. The building consists of several constructions, the eastern building is used to offer and the southern building is a kitchen. The western building is commonly used in the parent’s room, while the northern building is a children’s room or a place to offer. However, the Hindu people in Bali are building their temple in the northeast area, called the family temple, and they offer daily offerings.
The traditional Balinese compound is fundamentally split into three components for distinct reasons. The directional idea of their traditional compass is applied to build holy structures on the hill–the wardens of the compound such as the shrines (head); all living buildings are constructed in the center yard (body), and the kitchen and rest of the property on the seaside where the waste is generally thrown away. The main feature of a traditional Balinese compound is either red bricks, sandstones, or odove walls covered with stubble produced with thatched roof or rice. There are two niches on either side of the entrance walls as the replacement of shrines, where if the family is a little better financially, they generally build separate, sometimes elaborate, shrines.
Ubud Monkey Forest: The full name of this is the Holy Monkey forest shrine of Padangtegal Mandala Wisata Wanara Wana. It is a nature-reserved temple complex, housing approximately 340 monks. In fact, it is a small rainforest area where many other animals live there as well. Monkey Forest is located in the middle of Ubud and is specially constructed for the conservation of monks and other animals. You can see and interact directly with animals by joining the tour with our experience Bali cab Driver.
Ubud Palace: Puri Saren Ubud, or better known as the Royal Palace of Bali Ubud, is a Ubud Palace with some of the lovely traditional buildings in Bali. The region where King of Ubud and the royal family lived was the complex. The place is in the heart of Ubud, right in the shape of the traditional Ubud market accessible with a driver manual by car hire Bali. Ida Tjokorda Putu Kandel founded the market from 1800 to 1823.
Although they are next to each other, the palace and the market offer distinct symbols. The Royal Palace of Bali Ubud is the center of artistic culture. In the meantime the market is the economic and social symbol. When you go to the palace, join the traditional auditorium with the banyan trees for shelter.
UBud Arts Market: Stand at the intersection of Jalan Raya Ubud and Jalan Monkey Forest, and find yourself in Ubud, one of the most popular and traditional markets in Bali-literally a stone’s throw from the royal palace, the town temple and the Ubud Art Market.
The princes of Ubud were–and continue to be–excellent artists, and the market extended the patronage of artists by the local nobility. For over 100 years, artisans from close towns have sold their goods on the Ubud market. As Bali’s tourist tide rose, the Ubud market had become more expensive than any other: close access to small settlements of craftsmen meant that visitors were getting true handicraft at reduced rates.
And that is what it is today; no shopping journey to Central Bali is ever complete without spending an hour or so in the art market. (Art galleries and spa experiences in the area can wait!) Check the pictures below to take a virtual journey across the cheap art aisles of the Ubud art market.
Tegalalang rice terraces: The rice terraces of Tegallalang in Ubud are known for their lovely scenes of rice paddy and creative irrigation systems. The traditional Balinese cooperative irrigation system known as the subak is thought to have been transferred in the eighth century by a renowned saint named Rsi Markandeya. Tegallalang forms 3 of the most beautiful terraced landscapes of the shared Ubud region, the others in Pejeng and Campuhan villages. The Tegallalang rice terraces alone give a spectacular view that extends to the far side of the valley before you. The highway is cool and breezy and is a popular destination for visitors to stop and take pictures. Painters and nature enthusiasts will also appreciate a visit and there are several art kiosks and cafes in the vicinity of the cliff.
Tegenungan Waterfall: Tegenungan Waterfall is a wonderful attraction for nature enthusiasts who stay in Ubud or visit neighboring Sukawati. It is halfway between Ubud and the provincial capital of Denpasar in Bali. It is regarded to be the nearest natural attraction of its kind, which can be reached south-east of central Ubud within a half hour drive. You can walk down to the big stone foundation and have a dip in the pond, but this is not recommended because of the danger of flash floods after heavy downpours. Here there are restaurants serving fine local cuisine as a Balinese-style crispy fried duck that can be hung up before or after the Tegenungan Waterfall..
